BIENVENIDOS

During my first year at college, I realized that I wanted to help others. After a few CI courses at Texas State University (EAT 'EM UP CATS!) I found my calling - EDUCATION!  

 

After many years in the public school system, I have ventured out into the public sector. It has been a long journey, but it has made me the man I am today. As I continue to move forward in my professional career, I have found a new calling - LEADERSHIP!  

 

Today, I am still proud to say that leadership, coaching, and lifelong learning are my passions. I am looking forward to the future.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

Throughout my career journey, I have had the privilege of working in diverse roles that have provided me with invaluable experiences. It all began in 2008 when I embarked on my path as a Spanish teacher at Bowie. Teaching was a passion of mine, and I thoroughly enjoyed nurturing young minds. As my family expanded, I recognized the need for a career change, and in 2011, an opportunity in the administration department arose, which I eagerly embraced. I was promoted to the role of Management Assistant to the Principal, where I skillfully handled multiple projects, streamlined IT solutions, and enhanced overall logistics and operations within the school. Additionally, I collaborated closely with the Service Center to optimize communications between the administration and maintenance personnel, allowing me to gain insights into effective team leadership, student learning, and fostering open communication in both large and small teams. These efforts culminated in being honored as the Classified Employee of the Year for Austin ISD, a testament to the collective dedication of our team in creating a safe and enriching learning environment.

In pursuit of further growth and the opportunity to effect positive change, I transitioned to become the Director of Learning and Development at Elite CEU. Although it was difficult to leave the Bowie family after a long and fulfilling tenure, I was excited to have the chance to shape the company's culture and processes. At Elite CEU, I successfully facilitated the creation of standard operating procedures, processes, handbooks, and instructional design practices for eLearning, AR, and VR curricula. These programs were carefully aligned with specific standards and codebooks to meet state-mandated certifications and CEUs. Guiding a team of 15-20 members, I ensured that the curriculum writing process was meticulously executed, encompassing SME acquisition, content creation, development, deployment, and thorough assessment evaluation. It brings me immense joy to know that the culture we established there continues to flourish.

The next step in my career, I served as the Director of Operations at QA Roofing Inc., where I was brought on board in January 2020 amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the difficulties faced, we have persevered and achieved success in executing both small and large roofing projects. From projects ranging from $3,000 to $50,000 to larger ones up to $2,100,000, we have overcome supply chain obstacles and workforce shortages. As a team, we have transformed QA Roofing's reputation, emphasizing core values such as safety, communication, participation, and teamwork. The implementation of safety standards and training, efficient online sales and project management tools, and the adoption of standard operating procedures have led us to operate seamlessly as a united and high-functioning team.

As the Manager of Project Development, I am eager to introduce efficient processes and SOPs for our teams, overseeing major commercial roofing projects from start to finish. With a focus on achieving financial objectives, I lead budgeting, cost control, and implement innovative project management systems. Communication is paramount as I convey expectations and company goals to our team members. My aim is to resolve issues and ensure smooth project lifecycles. Together, we achieve an average of 42% gross profit KPI on major projects ranging from $500,000 to $4.5 million across Oklahoma, Florida, and Texas. Building strong relationships with stakeholders and partners, we drive continuous improvement company-wide.

As I reflect on my journey so far, I hold steadfast to my core values, which encompass family, lifelong learning, respect, and teamwork. My family remains a driving force behind my determination, and I am always eager to learn from everyone I encounter. Within any team, I ensure that each member knows the vital role they play in our collective success, as I firmly believe that we are nothing without the strength of our team.

The future may hold new adventures, and I am open to what it may bring. My diverse experiences have molded me into a professional who is adaptable, determined, and committed to making a positive impact in any endeavor I undertake.
